How do I add .NET Messenger users to my contacts for Communicator?

I have changed from MS Messenger to Office Communicator in my business. I
need to add IM contacts of business partners outside our AD. With Messenger,
I would add their .NET ID. I don't see the option in Communicator. How can
I add .NET Messenger users to my contacts in Office Communicator?
