How do I add sequential numbers in Word

I am trying to make gift certificates using Microsoft Word (2 gift
certificates to a page). I need to add sequential numbers to these
certificates. When I try printed more than 1 copy, the sequential numbering
doesn't work - I get multiple pages with the same number.
