How do I add symbols to a locked form?

I have created a form which I need locked, however when I try and type in the
text fields, I am unable to add symbols, such as 1/2. Is there a way to keep
the form locked but still allow symbols in the form fields?

Hello,

What do you mean by locked? Not allowing anyone to edit the forms or
allowing only users with special permission to edit the form. Also when you
say you cannot enter symbols in the locked form, are you able to enter
regular text in the fields.

Please give me more details
