How do I add text to an Autoshape?

Help says to create autoshape and begin typing but this doesn't work. How can
I easily add a text box to fit the shape?

Right-click on the AutoShape and choose Add Text. This will create a text
box inside the shape, but it will be rectangular. Word doesn't provide any
way of filling an entire shape with text.
