How do I adjust above spacing in table?

I did it for other tables but can't seem to do it for these tables. That is:
Note: there are no table borders visible in all except for the top.

The first image is the one prefered, where the spacing between text and top border (probably all cells) are further apart.

The second and third, spacing in text and border are too compact.

Appreciate it if you could help

paragraph spacing will affect the amount of "white" space above and below cell contents

If this is a table try to adjust the justification in the cell.
In Word 2010 you would:
  1. click in the cell you want to modify
  2. when the table tools menu opens click on the layout menu
  3. in the alignment section select which alignment you'd like for the text in the cell (the one in the middle on the left would be aligned left and centered up and down in the cell)
