How do I adjust the spaces & indents (when the buttons are "locked

I would like to know how to fix some problems I'm having with indentation in
Onenote using note containers in a horizontal outline.
On my screen, the indentations don't line up consistently across pages and
subpages.
There is also excess space on the right & left (outside my containter) that
I want to get rid of (then I wouldn't need to scroll left and right when I
indent far enough over to either side).
Also, the indentation is often to far over to begin with.

Your left margins are where you put them ;) You can click anywhere and
start typing - if you click too far to the right on the left margin, the
margin will therefore be too far to the right.

Each page and note container is different. There are (by design) no
universally applied formatting standards applied to multiple pages.

For items on a page, each note container has several controls in the
"header" of the container. Hover over a note container and you should
see a selection handle (a bar with horizontal dots) which can me moved
with the mouse. There is also a set of double-headed arrows which will
change the width of the container (and therefore set the location of the
right margin). Text will automatically word-wrap as you adjust the width
of the container.

I always recommend that first-time users turn on the viewing of Note
Containers by going to Tools | Options | Display and checking "Show Note
Containers on Pages" and setting the darkness to "Darkest" in the next
item on the screen.
