I am trying to change a PPT document that has main text boxes that are in
different positions on different slides. How do I go about aligning all boxes
to the same position all at once so the text will align perfectly in all of
my slides? I've tried aligning the main text box on the master slide but
nothing happens.
Thanks,
Brian

Brian,
You can't do that in one go I'm afraid. Certainly not in PowerPoint 2003.
The next best thing is to use the gridlines/guidlines to align your
textboxes. Right click a slide and choose guidelines and grid, check
guidelines or grid or both. NOw when you drag a textbox you will see that the
guidelines are magnetic so that you can easily align them.
In PowerPoint 2007 you could add a custom placeholderwith text on the master
slide, that would allow you to align on every slide.

Hi Brian

You may need to re-apply the slide layout to the slides - and you may have
to do it twice for it to 'stick'. This will only help if the text is in
placeholders and not textboxes. Another solution would be to look at the
hammer tool in the free starter set add-in from Steve:
