How do I align multi-line equations that break over one line?

Hello,
I am using WORD2007 and the new math editor. I have a number of equations
that follow one after the other that I need to align at the equals sign.
This I can do (SHIFT-RETURN after each equation, select all the equations,
right click, select align at =). What I can't do is align at equals when one
of the equations is so long that it must break over a line (or more than one
line). I don't know if this will reproduce when posted but below is
something like what I need.
x = x y z
= x.(something very long +
something else very long).z
= x.k.y
Any suggestions gratefully received - in the mean time I'm back to equation
editor and LaTeX. Doh.

John
