How do I "Allow Latin Text to Wrap in the Middle of a Word?"

When I move content from Microsoft Word into PowerPoint text slides, words break in the middle when the line wraps to the next one. So I might have "sof" at the end of the first line, and "t" by itself at the beginning of the next line.

On my PC in Office 2007, I could go up to the paragraph menu, click on the Asian Typography tab, and under line break clear the "Allow Latin text to wrap in the middle of a word" check box. Mac microsoft help says I can do this with Office 2008, and I have followed procedures for "Turning on Japanese Language Features," which is one of the first steps.

However, when I try to follow the help procedures for "Set word wrap for English words when working with East Asian Text," I still can't find a "Japanese Typography tab" or an "Asian Typography tab" with the new Mac PowerPoint 2008 paragraph/line spacing menu.

Of course, after pasting the text, I can always go through each text box and click shift-enter after each line.

Though I know I should minimize my use of lots of text on PowerPoint slides for aesthetic reasons, I'm a writing teacher, and I often have text projected on the board as examples. So not having to manually correct each slide line by line would be helpful.

Therefore, for those times when I need to, can anyone tell me how I can really find that "Allow Latin text to wrap in the middle of a word" check box so I can deselect it?

Or, are there other means to more correctly executed word wraps and breaks?

Thanks so much!
