How do I apply a new color scheme to a document in publisher?

I want to change the color scheme of a business card I have already created.
Seems like an easy thing just to call up the various color schemes and click
on a new one but . . . nothing happens. How do I make this seemingly easy
change?

Open up the fill menu, the colors across the top are the scheme colors. If you
had chosen a scheme when you started your creation, then changing the scheme
would be simply clicking a new scheme. Create a custom scheme using the colors
you have in your business cards, when you are finished you should be able to
change the scheme by clicking one of the pre-designed color schemes.

Color schemes are in every version of Publisher from 98 on up.

No, they are about the same. Later versions had the luxury of task panes which
of course stayed open so you could change the color and see the results without
having to open the menu each time.

I don't have Publisher here at work. Even tho it appears that I could
install it, I can't. There have been times when I could have used it and
instead I have to use Word. Ugh!

I'm using Publisher 2007, and, actually, I think I have figured it out. As I thought you SHOULD be able, you just have to click on a new color scheme for whatever document you want to change, but it seems that you have to be sure to choose the new scheme by using the drop down that accompanies every choice. Not to do so seems to freeze the document into the old scheme until you close it out and reopen it. thanks.
