how do I attach an entire folder to an email?

As far as I know, this can only be done if you first create a compressed ZIP
file for the folder.

If you are using a recent version of Windows, you can right-click any file
or folder and choose Send To | Compressed (zipped) Folder; a ZIP file is
then created.

The recipient will then have to unzip the sent file.

Folders can contain hundreds of files. Even compressed the resulting file
size *may* be too large for e-mail..

But that would be even more of a problem with an unZipped folder. The
solution would be to create subfolders for the purpose of emailing.

My email system allows attachments up to 20 Mb.

E-mailing 20mb of data would make you very unpopular with users who still
have dial-up systems (and there are plenty of those) and while you may be
able to attach 20mb, it doesn't necessarily mean that it will be accepted by
the receiving system.

parmalorac could use an ftp site, or could make as many folders as it
takes to be small enough for the recipient to accept.

But the size of the sending isn't part of the query. It could be just
a matter of 20 or even 100 little items (such as jpgs) that it would
be a pain to Attach individually.
