How do I automatically create email hyperlink in onenote?

From OneNote Help:

"OneNote automatically creates a hyperlink whenever you type or paste an
Internet or World Wide Web URL into your notes."

Why wouldn't it do the same when I type or paste an email address? Is there
something I'm missing? Or do I have to create the hyperlink manually every
time I type an email address? I don't use Outlook, maybe the answer has
something to do with the Outlook syncing capability? Clicking on a maually
created email hyperlink does open a blank compose window in thunderbird
though...

It seems like such a no-brainer for the program to automatically create an
email hyperlink as well, I'm sure I must be missing something!

Thanks,
Joanna

Hi, Joanna.

This works if you type the email address with a "mailto:" in front of
it. For isntance:

mailto:[email protected]

Should create an email in your default mail program address to this
address. At least it does for me.

Great, thanks! I was using mailto in the add hyperlink box, it never
occurred to me to put in on the page. Works like a charm!

Thanks,
Joanna
