How do I avoid elongation of inserted graphics in Excel 97 thru 20

Inserted logotypes and graphics are elongated by about 10% compared to
original and format figures. If I imsert the worksheet into Word the
proportions are corrected. If I insert-object- excelworksheet in Word and
then insert graphic the proportions are correct. How do I make Excel maintain
correct proportions?
