How do I block Message Board posts?

Gordon

I am having a considerable problem with message board posts by
someone using the name niuyne at Remote Name 220.191.44.200. This
person or organization posts numerous nonsense messages, daily,
on my web site message board. Is there any way I can block this
poster? Thanks for any suggestions.

It depends on what sort of message board you are running.

Microsoft Publisher does not create message boards. This newsgroup is
dedicated to Microsoft Publisher. Go figure. You might have more help in
the newsgroup or support board dedicated to your message board software.

Also, if you are using Microsoft Publisher to design your website (but not
your message board), then in future please use the
microsoft.public.publisher.webdesign newsgroup instead, as that's where web
queries are handled fastest.

Gordon,

I use Simple Machines Forum and under administration I can ban users.
Here's the options: Here you can ban troublesome people either by IP,
hostname, username, or email. The trouble with IP is that many users may
have the same IP address - for instance anyone using Fuse.net in
Cincinnati will have the same basic address.
