How do I by-pass "Windows has encountered a problem" to fit it?

I'm using Excel 2000. When I open a certain excel workbook with macros, I
get the "windows has encountered a problem" message and I can't go any
further till I tell it to Send Error Report or Don't Send, then when I do, it
shuts down. I believe the problem is that I have two control buttons linked
to the same cell, (a control button was inadvertently copied), but I can't
get to it to fix it. Is there a way?

I sent this message earlier, but not sure it got through so am doing so again.

Go into Excel. Select Tools>Macro>Security, and set your security level to
Medium. Now open the file. At the prompt, select not to enable macros.

Thank you. It was already on medium, and there appears dire warnings about
selecting low. But the macro "I believe" to be causing the problem, I wrote
myself. Its just a control button that I mistakenly copied and now is
conflicting with another. So, would you select low? Thanks again.

Thanks ..... It was already set at medium. I set it to low. Same result.
But, in an earlier copy of the same worksheet (saved before the problem),
I've found that all I have to do to cause the problem is create and
incorporate another control button set. When I open a good worksheet,
incorporate two control buttons (yes/no), then save it and try to re-open, I
get the "Windows has encountered a problem" message.

Not knowing the code you used, I cannot really comment, or offer advise.
Maybe one of the MVP's may be able to help you? I suggest you post again,
but include your code. This way, you are much more likely to get a response.
