How do I calculate a field between records in Access 2003?

I am creating a database to keep track of water and electricity usage in the
company, this is currently done on excel and the meter readings are entered
and the usage calculated, I was trying to do the same access but have found
no way of calculating the reading field between records (each record
representing one day (date as primary key)) Can anyone help me with this one?
