How do I calculate an average by a certain percentage?

My husband is a junior college teacher and needed to know how to calculate an
average by a certain percent. Say if homework was 20% of their total grade,
how would he write the formula for that?

Is it not just a simple

=AVERAGE(A1:A20)*20%
