How do I call image paths rather than the images

I need to include patient photos in my database but don't want the size to
get out of hand. Can I create a table with path(s) to the images instead?

Yes. On my website are two small sample databases: "Pictures.mdb" and
"PicturesLoad.mdb" which illustrate how to do this.
