How do I cancel pending server request?

Outlook is not shutting down properly. It informs me that if I have an
exchange email server, I must cancel pending server request by clicking
Outlook icon in notifications area and then clicking cancel server request on
shortcut menu. When I click on it I am unable to see that option on the
shortcut menu.
