How do I cancel underlining of signature in Outlook?

Every time I reply to an email or open a new message, my signatures are
underlined. I do not have Underline boxes checked in Format or Signature
Format.
Some recipients tell me that my entire email arrives underlined. Using
Outlook 2003, version 5.1
