How do I change a template from greyscale to color?

I am using a Publisher template in greyscale and would like to change the
entire publication to color.

Was the template color originally? Open the Color Scheme menu (Format), does
selecting a different color scheme change the template colors? There is a
picture reset icon on the picture toolbar, have you tried it?
