how do I change autoformatted em dashes to semi-colons in Word 97?

I made a list of song titles and artists in the the following manner:
Song Title--Artist .
The autoformatting feature automatically changed the '--' to an em dash. My
list has gotten so long that I am starting to repeat (using slightly
different variations of the titles) and would like to be able to sort my list
by artist, but I need to change the em dash (which takes two keystrokes) to
single keystroke character (i.e. : ; , -...) to use the seperate fields at
other option. Is there a easy way to do this besides going through and
retyping each entry?

Yes. Create a single em dash, highlight it, and copy it to
the clipboard. Go to the beginning of the file and type
control-H. In "Find what" type control-V to paste the em
dash there. In "Replace with" enter a semicolon. Click on
replace all.
