How do I change color bit depth in Picture Manager?

How do I change color bit depth in Picture Manager? I have a picture in B&W but it has been sent to me as 24 bit color. In Photo Editor, this was a simple change but I cannot figure out how to do this in Picture Manager. All I can do is export to a .gif but all that does is drop the depth from 24 to 8. How do I get it down to pure B&W?

Try this:
To make a color picture black and white, type -100 in the Saturation settings text box or move the slider all the way to the left.
