How do I change default document editor to Word from Wordperfect?

Documents are automatically opened in Wordperfect and not Word. How do I
change? This particularly iritating when opening attachments in e-mail
(Outlook).

go to Start -->control Panel --> folder options

Select the 'File Types' tab and select the file extension that is opening
with Word Perfect. Hit change and select MS word from the list. If Word is
not listed select path to winWord.exe from the BROWSE button.

This may be easier said than done. Much depends on whether WP will attempt
to reclaim is file associations next time it is run. You can stop Word
reconfiguring, but I don't know about WP.

Incidentally it is bad practice to open attachments from Outlook directly
and can lead to information loss. Save to the hard drive and open from
there.
