What version of Visio are you using? In Visio 2007 from what I can tell the
shapes are without shadows and color fill except for the arrows. To adjust
the format for a shape select it then right mouse click, Format > Fill you
should now have a menu which allows you to make changes.

I am using the Cross Flow template and want to get rid of the shadows and
graded fill. Is there a way to change the default settings for the
template?
