How do I change my IMAP data file?

Hi,

I have been using a POP3 account for a while in Outlook 2007, running on XP.
I have just added another email account (GMail IMAP this time). Adding the
account has created an additional PST file, and a new Mail folder in Outlook.
I would like all mail from both accounts saved in the same pst, and to be
delivered to the same Personal Folder.

I have tried Tools\Account Settings\Change Folder, but the IMAP account does
not display the 'Change Folder' button.

Any ideas?

IMAP, because it’s a copy of the mail on the server, needs to have its own
message store. If you put pop mail into the imap folder it will be synced up
to the imap server.

I am having the same problem as Imorse. I did not understand your
answer. Is this to say that it is impossible to have our email
delivered to the default Outlook Personal Folders?

Correct. IMAP is a server account - all mail is stored on the server and an
offline copy is stored in outlook, unlike POP3 which downloads mail from the
server, deleting the mail from the server unless you tell the client to
leave a copy on the server. Because IMAP is just an offline copy, it needs
to be in it's own set of mail folders. If you want/need it delivered to
your personal folders, you'll need to use POP3 to access it.
