how do I change spell checking from German to U.S. English in onestroke?

In a Powerpoint presentation with 50 slides and half a dozen text boxes
on every slide, how do I change spell checking from German to U.S.
English in one stroke? This is no problem in a Microsoft word document,
but I have failed miserably in Powerpoint.

Hi Heinz ,
I don't believe that you can change language of text inside a couple of
textboxes together in word too . You should not be able to select both
pieces of text together . May be your word document does not have text boxes
, in that case, you can select all and change language . Similarly in
PowerPoint there is no way to change text language of multiple textboxes
together . Frames however are different and can be selected together .
Please let me know .
Thanks,
Priyanka

Correct: I never use textboxes in word. But since there is not such a
thing in body text in powerpoint, how do I handle all the text together?
Often I would have liked to export all text fragments from a powerpoint
presentation at once regardless of arrangement and order and I never
have managed.

What exactly are "frames" in powerpoint?

Heinz, I believe I have a fix for your problem. I overcame it as
follows: When your document is displayed in the standard view you have
a preview of all the text entered on all slides in a separate column to
the left of your slides. Click anywhere inside this text preview frame
of your PPT window. Then use the "select all" comand from the Edit
menue or use the corresponding keyboard shortcut (apple + A) to select
the entire text of all slides. Then select "Language" from the "Tools"
menue (I use the German version where this menue is called "Extras",
and I am really uncertain whether it is called "Tools" in the English
version), and pick the language which you would like to assign to your
text. Problem is: anytime you enter some more text into your slides the
language setting is lost and the procedure has to be repeated again,
unless you decide to set the selected language as your default language
for all subsequent files. Hey, this is MS, it is a feature, not a bug!
;-)
Regards, Urs
