How do I change text into currency in a single column in a word t.

I'm trying to remember how to change text in a column in a word table into a
currency based format - ie: decimal points and the like.

Usual method is to insert a currency symbol such as a dollar sign in front
of the first character, and a decimal point before the antepenultimate
digit.
