How do I change the default character spacing in Outlook e-mail?

My e-mail text is all double spaced. I can change the spacing in each
individual message manually, but I can't figure out how to set the default
spacing for all messages to "single" space. The "Mail format" under
"options" doesn't get me anywhere.

I have single space default. I want mine doubled. Also I wanted the character
spacing expanded, 1.5 pt.
