How do I change the default font colour in outlook 2007

When i start to type in outlook the font is pale yellow, I can change it to
default on the ribbon but it will not stay like that. Can enyone help with
how to set it so it is permanantly default.

I also have the problem. I've followed the directions to tools/options/mail
format/stationary and font/ but it doens't work. PLEASE help!
