How do I change the default page size?

The default page size in Word X (OS X 10.3.4) is US Legal and I want to
change it to US Letter. How do I do this?

I can change it to Letter for each file I print, but this is a hassle.

In 2004 it's done this way: Open a new blank document -> File menu -> Page
Setup -> select US Letter -> go to the top pop-down menu ("Settings") ->
Save as default.

I expect Word X is the same or similar.

Clive,
I tried that before--and again after your suggestion, but it doesn't
not work. The Save Settings does not seem to do anything.

Any other suggestions?

Glenn,

Did you do it in a blank new document? (I'm assuming you have the problem on
new documents and not just a particular document -- and that you do not have
an add-in that's changing your settings).

If that isn't holding, try making the change in the Normal template itself.
Locate the Normal template, open it (make sure "Normal" appears in the title
bar) and do as mentioned. Since all new documents are based on the Normal
template, that should solve it.

But if it doesn't, post back and someone will probably be able to come up
with another line of approach.
