How do I change the Display As Name in a contact card?

I change the Display As Name on the General Tab of the contact card AND the
All Fields tab, E-mail Fields, E-mail Display As but it won't stay. It
reverts back to the full name followed by the e-mail address. I want to send
emails with only the first name listed instead of the full name and the
e-mail address. HELP!!

Outlook Version? Reverts when? You need to provide more information.

One thing to watch for is if you are using your auto-completion cache to
complete the email address in the TO field, you need to delete the old entry
and use your new entry.
