I'm running Word 2002 (SP3) on Windows XP Pro.
I'd like to have my top and side rulers measure in inches. I'm not sure
what they are measuring in now, but I think it's measuring picas across the
top ruler (2,4,6....).
I've gone to Tools > Options > General, and changed the "Measurement units:"
to "Inches" -- but nothing changes. It still measures Picas across the top.
I've also tried to change it to other measurements (Centimeters,
Millimeters, points, etc.) -- and yet NOTHING changes on the rulers.
In desperation, I uninstalled Word, and reinstalled from scratch. Still,
all I get is Picas. Picas is useless to me, and I need to change it to
inches. But I've tried everything I can think of. Is there some options
file that is somehow locked, or registry setting?
Before I upgraded from Windows 2000 to Windows XP I was able to change the
units at will. Now, I can't for anything!
Please help!
Thanks so much,
Dan Solis
