How do I change the shape of a box in my visio (square to circle)

Michael

I have a completed flow chart in Visio but I want to use different shapes.
How do I select several shapes at once and convert them to a different shape?

Hi Michael,

There's no real "Shape replace" feature in Visio. The connectors in Visio
2003 are pretty good at recognizing that a new shape is being inserted if
you delete shapes, then drag new ones in to place.

In the flowchart stencil, there is a "Flowchart shapes" shape that allows
you to switch between Data, Decision, Output and Process by simply
right-clicking the shape.

Beyond that, there are third party solutions for shape replacement (I think
from Visimation?) and you can edit a local master in the document stencil
(see File > Shapes > Show Document Stencil)

Chris:
Thank you!
1) I am new to Visio after trying unsuccessfully to flowchart efficiently in
3 other programs. I had connector issues until I discovered Visio. The
other 3 programs allowed the user to "change" the shape. I've been looking
for the "change" function in Visio for a week, then researched on this site.
I'll quit looking.
2) Although I took the Microsoft online Visio classes, I didn't know about
the Flowchart Shapes shape.
Again, thank you!
Elizabeth
