how do i change the std rate?

The standard rate in the resource sheet by default is $0.00/hr. When i
change it to $0.00/day (Tools-Options-view-default standard rate-set as
default), it takes $0.00/day in the resource sheet when i enter the resource
name. But when i enter the rate against that resource, it again reverts back
to $0.00/hr. how do i keep it constant at $0.00/day?

Simply type the rate you wish as $XX/day. Hope this helps.

Note that whether you enter rates as $$ per hour, day, week, month, or year,
Project pro-rates the rate to an equivalent hourly wage. When the resource
is assigned to a task, the rate is multiplied by the number of man-hours of
work the resource puts in on the task to determine the task's cost.
