How do I close Outlook 2007 (beta 2)?

When I close Outlook 2007 (beta 2) so I can pick up web mail, the application
appears to close, but continues to collect e-mail so I can't get it over web
mail.

Apparently, the application leaves an agent active to pick up mail even
though it was putatively closed.

Any suggestions? The only thing I've found is to restart and not start
Outlook 2007.

Outlook 2007 doesn't have any such agent. What is happening here is that
Outlook is not closing fully due to a 3rd party component. You can
verify that by opening the task manager, process tab. While it appears
Outlook is closed, you should still see outlook.exe listed as process.
If you kill that process, Outlook will be def. closed.
You should disable all your add-ins, disable your AV scanners Outlook
integration. Also, if you have a PDA that sync with Outlook, make sure
it is disconnected when you want Outlook to close.

I agree with Chuck.
Its true you can terminate Outlook, but that is not a practical way to exit.
Neither is it practical to disable AV scanning of e-mail.
I want a button that exits Outlook 2007.

As I said before, the problem is not Outlook, but a 3rd party program.
Figure out which add-in/program causes the problem and your Outlook will
exist just fine (as it does on my computers e.g.).
Outlook AV integration is not needed. Normal AV scanning and Outlook
security protects you sufficiently enough. AV integration into Outlook
is redundant and a waste of resources. You can do without.
