How do I combine data from two fields on the same database

I had just downloaded a database. However, it is comma delimited and I need
two fields to come in as one. Access does not allow me to combine the 2
fields while I download. Can anyone help please. Thanks.

PS I am a new Access 2003 user.

Use an update query on the table after it is imported to combine the two
fields into the field you want it to be. If you don't want that field to be
there, open the table in design mode and delete it. This is would only be a
good idea for a one time shot. If this is an ongoing activity, I would
suggest an intermediate table to import into, then an append query that
combines the two fields into the production table.

Dear Klatuu:

Thank you for the quick response. I will try and do as suggested. Yes this
is a one time situation and your suggestion is fine. Thanks again.
