How do I convert gif to drwing object to move freely

M

Mr. D

Everytime I import a graphic it comes in as an immobile locked in place item.
I usually put it in a text box to move it.
Today I did something by accident that turned the usual balck triangles in
the cormer of the image to the regular round circle type that I could move
freely.
I have the same issue with word art!

HELP!

Thanks

Hi D.,

If you change the text wrapping from 'inline with text' to any of the other choices you'll usually get the effect you've seen (black
sizing handles are usually inline with text items).

In Tools=>Options=>Edit you can change the default text wrapping format for graphics/objects in Word 2003.

To add to what Bob has said, when you click on the graphic, the Picture
toolbar is displayed. The Text Wrapping button (dog icon) opens a menu on
which you can choose any option other than In Line With Text to make the
image freely positionable.
