How do I convert hyperlink in Word 2003 into URL

Please, give me the steps how to convert a hyperlink embedded in a Word 2003
document into URL. It was very easy in Word 2000 ("Toggle field codes" or
something like this) but I am unable to figure out how to do the same in Word
2003. I edited the hyperlink in FrontPage but could not copy the URL shown.
Has this to be done manually? I can't believe it.
Thank you in advance for the solution (which is probably trivial).

Select the hyperlink text (assumed to be the URL) and click on the Insert
Hyperlink button. Or, provided you have "Internet and network paths with
hyperlinks" checked on the AutoFormat tab of Tools | AutoCorrect Options,
run Format | AutoFormat: AutoFormat now.
