How do I convert my Access 98 files to Access 2007?

I recently upgraded my MS Office package. Now I need to convert my old files
to the new version.

I was able to open a file, but the Switchboard did not open. I can get to
each of the databases within the file, but not with the ease of the
Switchboard.

Is it possible without having to start over with my inventory of over 3000
books?

There is no "Access 98" product. Are you talking about Access 95 or Access 98?

What version of Office did you upgrade to?

A database file only contains one database. By "each of the databases within
the file" do you actually mean "each of the tables within the file"?

Any error messages?

Go to Forms and manually open the Switchboard form. If it works, you
probably just need to update the startup properties of each database. How
this is done depends on your version of Access.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I had been using Access 98 as part of the MS
Office Pro 98 package, and now I have installed the MS Office Pro 2007.
I must not have been thinking straight - I had my terminology incorrect
regarding "tables" and "databases". Senior moment there.

I opened the Switchboard manually and did see all of the old forms. But I
will need help on how to update the startup properties.

Thank you so much for helping!

There is no "Access 98" product. I bet that you had Access 97.

For Access 2007 click on the Office Button then click on the Access Options
button towards the lower right of the dialog box.

Click on Current Database in the left column.

Change Display Form: to Switchboard.
