How do I convert Project 2003 durations (8h) to Excel 2003?

I am linking from Project Standard 2003 to Excel 2003. Durations and working
time are listed in Project as 8h Excel doesn't recognize this format.

Hello Dave,

From excel do a find and replace to find "h" and replace with
nothing. Becareful when replacing days -- you want to maintain
consistency with your measurements. So if replacing 1 day -- I'd
convert to 8 hours in Project before exporting. In Project Tools >
Options, Schedule tab "Duration is entered in "hours". To convert
calculated durations (summary tasks) go to Tools > Macros > Macro
and run the Format_Duration macro.
