how do I copy a page Including the background page?

I create visio drawing using background pages which print just fine
(hardcopy). However, when copying to another application (softcopy), the
background is not copied as well. Is there a way to do this?

-go to the foreground page you want to copy (don't select any shape there!)
-Edit > Copy drawing (or Ctrl+C)
-switch to the other application
-paste

John,

it works perfectly for me (V2003 prof.), copying foreground and background
page at once, without changing location of the items on the page.

Interesting, I'm running 2003 pro as well and I have tried doing this to:
Another Visio drawing - background page does not copy and the shapes are
moved to the left and down.
Word - the background page information is copied and the shapes are moved to
the left.

It depends on the target and if there is anything present on the left side
of the drawing to prevent the shift.
