Help! I created a presentation on my laptop using powerpoint 2003 and need to
copy it to my desktop to finish work on it. I realize that the cd is
formatted as read only files but I was wondering if anyone can suggest a way
of getting all that info without having to start from scratch?

If CD is your only means of transferring your file from the Laptop to the
Desktop. Once the file is on your Desktop computer. Right click the file, select
properties, remove the read only checkmark from Attributes section.

thank you for your reply, I figured it out by doing exactly what you told me,
however, I am curious as to what other way you could accomplish this. I was
considering using the file transfer application in windows but didn't have
the serial cable to conect the laptop to my pc at home.
thanks again.

Another way is to get your self a router, and set up a network between your
laptop and your desktop. Or get one of those USB memory sticks which act like
another drive. They do not make file read only which is the default for the CD
