how do I copy a word file- words and photo- to a cd?

First, please learn to use the message area rather than trying to cram your
entire post into the Subject line.

Second, please provide details about versions, etc. - Although in this case
it probably doesn't make any difference :)

Assuming you have a drive capable of writing to CDs & that you have blank
CD-Rs or CD-RWs, follow the instructions for your burner software - it makes
no difference what type of data you're trying to burn to the CD. This isn't
something done from within Word.
