How do I copy all email folders to a cd

I have many important emails in my Outlook 2003 program folder list.

How can I save them to a cd...

I have been to many sites and can't find any instruction that is easy to
follow and I have botched all attempts to follow them. I followed the help
instructions in Outlook only to get a 98 megabyte file on my desktop that
opens in Notepad and has unreadable jibberish.

I suggest that Outlook create a (user friendly) feature that will allow
email to be easily saved to a cd... Or at last be kiind enough to write a
proceedure that is easily availablwe through a search on "frequently asked
questions" and simple to follow. I am sure many of you share those
sentiments. There must be a million users out there with the same dilemma I
have...MS should know we are not all computer experts....I am certain that
the malady could be quickly resolved by their programmers.

Currently, the only way I can figure out to save them (the folders) is to
open each email and then copy and paste in Word. This would require a great
amount of time.

Thanks,

Fred

Thanks DL...I think I have successfully saved the files to cd...I suppose
that in order to check to see if it was done properly I will have to open the
cd...what do I do...just go to Outlook and tell it to open the cd? What
program will read the cd?

No, OL requires full read/write access to the pst, so you have to copy to
hd, remove read only attribute, then in OL File>Open>Data File>browse to pst
NB Do not overwrite any existing pst

Make sure Outlook is completely closed whenever you burn a PST to a CD. If
Outlook has any connection to a PST when it gets burned, the PST often is
damaged.
