How do I copy data to cd in windows 2000?

I have a laptop with a cd rom drive and dowloaded a free trial of a cd
burning software. But. when I tried to burn the data to a cd rom, it said my
hardware wasn't compatible. What do I need to do?

This newsgroup is for questions about Microsoft Office, so your
question is waaaaay off-topic here. But my guess is that you are
trying to write to a CD using an ordinary cd-rom drive, which is
not possible because you need a cd-r or cd-rw drive.

In addition to the burning software, you also need a drive capable of
"burning" CD's. Hence the message that your hardware wasn't compatible.
Buy a CD drive that IS capable if writing CD's AND connecting to your
laptop, and you should be in good shape.
