how do I copy files to cd-rw without read only attribute?

D

Dude

Wish to copy (back-up) files and or folders to CD-RW disk...although "read
only" attribute is NOT checked prior to copying, following copying to CD-RW
disk the files become "read only."

What causes/How does this "read only" attribute occur when copying to CD-RW
disk...more importantly, how can this be changed to allow file modification?

Many thanks for timely responses!

When you record a file to a CD, it becomes "Read Only"
because a CD-ROM is "Read Only Memory". If you
wish to make changes to the file, copy the file back to
your hard drive, make your changes, then record the new
file to the CD.

I'm using windows xp sp2 & I've found that INCD a program from Nero A.G.
works well & allows dragging & dropping of files to CD-RW in MRW format. The
files can be saved & re-saved as required as this prog allows reading &
writing to a CD. Hope this helps & saves you some time. Latest version is
Nero Express 7. Regards, Jaybee.
