How do I copy from the internet to word 2007?

Until recently, I could highlight items in internet articles, or text or
photos in emails (Outlook) and copy the highlighted items into a Word (2007)
document. Now I can't do that. I can copy from within a Word document to a
Word document. I was also able to copy from the internet into an email, but
not from the email into Word.

What happens when you try? Error message, or nothing at all?

I have seen occasional issues like that, but they usually are
memory-related, and go away when Windows is rebooted. I've also been able to
coax it to work without rebooting by displaying the Clipboard pane in Word.
