How do I copy my quick access toolbar to another computer

I'm a consultant and frequently have to use client computers. In Office 2007
how do I copy my customized quick access toolbars to another computer? I used
to use the save my setting wizard, but it seems to be gone.

You'll find a separate *.qat file for each application where you customized the
toolbar in the hidden folder

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OFFICE

This is on Vista and later Windows versions; in XP it's

C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Office

To be able to see this folder, you need to go into the Windows Explorer dialog
Tools > Folder Options > View and select the option to show hidden folders and
files.

Make an add-on template. Modify its QAT and add any keyboard shortcuts you
want to keep available. Be sure that any the macro called is actually in
that template.

You carry the template with you on a thumb drive and load it on the
client's computer. (I always ask permission. If I'm only going to be there a
couple days, I leave my add-on template on the desktop, which means I have to
load it every time Word starts. If my stay is longer, I put it in ...Word\
Startup, which means it loads when Word loads.)

Thanks, Pam. the thumb drive is a great idea.
OK, I've made templates with specific styles in them so I know how to do
that. How do I "modify its QAT"?
I know that normal.dot used to hold my customized toolbars in prior office
versions, and it appears that now the QAT file is separate.
In the quick access toolbar customize dialog, the only choice is to
customize it in all documents.

I found how to load a template in Help, looks like that hasn't changed much.
Do I have to do anything else to tell Word that the template is an add-in?

You need to have the template for which you want to create the
(transportable QAT) open as the Active Document when you are modifying the
QAT. When you do that, it will be included in the drop down where you are
now seeing the Customize if in all documents.

When you customize the QAT of a W2007 document or template, you'll see, near
the top right side of the dialog a line that says "Customize Quick Access
Toolbar:" Under that you'll see "For all documents (default)" and an arrow.
Click the arrow and select the name of the file you are in. Any change you
make to the QAT will be saved in that file (document or template), not normal.
dotm.

To make it easy to keep my "traveling" capabilities the same as on my
computer, I removed all of my QAT customizations from normal.dotm and put
them in my editing.dotm, which I used on my main computer and carry with me
for use on client computers. Now, I just copy editing.dotm to my thumb after
any changes.

Thanks, Pam. I'm heading out of town this week and will follow your suggestion.
