How do I create a ppt template?

I'm sorry to ask such a simple question, but I am a powerpoint first time
user. I created my first powerpoint and I need to set the coverpage and theme
as a templete to reuse over and over.... only adding new informational
content and pictures.

Open PowerPoint -> View -> Slide Master -> in the center of the first
slide, paste the picture you want to set as the main background and
adjust the size of it to make it look suitable. Design the inner
slides using the same way. After that, click Close Master View.
